AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also is captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in United States. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the American women's national soccer soccer team along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Morgan was later awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
